Failure to notify buyer of Bumi-allocated house - Consumer Complaint for YEAP & YONG ADVOCATES & SOLICITORS



Messrs. Yeap & Yong as the legal representative, had failed to notify buyer during the signing of the Sales and Purchase Agreement on 15 June 2002 that the house sold by the developer, Lestari Puchong Sdn Bhd was a Bumi-allocated unit.

The developer, Lestari Puchong Sdn Bhd had since gone bankrupt and Ler Lum Advisory Services Sdn Bhd is appointed as the Liquidators of the company.

Buyer had wanted to sell the house but was informed by the Liquidator that the purchased house was a Bumi-allocated unit and hence require consent from the Housing Ministry before buyer can sell the house.

Messrs. Yeap & Yong as the legal representative, had failed in its judicial duty to inform buyer that the house sold by the developer was a Bumi-allocated unit thus, bringing untold hardship to buyer in selling the house.
