Overcharge - Consumer Complaint for Sebastian Schuler Antiquarian Horologist

My family have always used the services of Mr Sebastian Schuler to repair our antique clocks.We have 2 x antique clocks which need attention.My wife requested a repair quotation from Cornelius Lehr who is also a Antiquarian Horologist. Due to my loyal nature I insisted that we rather request Sebasian Schuler to repair the clock.After dropping the clocks off at Mr Schuler I was horrified when he sent me an invoice for R15 000 (without bothering to quote) for the Winterhalder & Hoffmeier clock. The 400 day Anniversary clock he was unable to repair.He charged R6100 more than I would think is an equally qualified individual.See attached correspondence. Obviously Mr Schuler was unaware that both clocks had already been quoted for and he was obviously taking advantage of our past relationship & loyalty. I became further concerned when he offered to purchase the Winterhalder for the cost of the repair!

In the meantime I have paid for the repair and arranged collection. The comparative quote obviously exposed his deceptive agenda. You can understand that I feel ripped off by this experience.
