I went into Osbro store in pretoria(Bosman Branch)just this afternoon in need of a mere quotation for the goods to the value over R20 000 rands(government quotation) and my other requirements(shopping) and was ordered to be searched. I thought maybe it could be some kind of joke, until i was informed it their law to do so to every customer walking in. i was so shocked, and felt completely disgusted as one young man of Indian origin walk to me to say "well if you are not allowing him(security officer) to search you, you might as well leave. I am still shocked! what business practice was that? Really! Why is their store open?, for who? How do they actually do business? I find it extremely disgusting policy. Do they lack customer trust. Do they worry about customer loyalty and retention. Is there a manager at that store? who makes their policies? I could understand if my packages on exit are searched maybe! why search on entry? can someone senior explain these disgusting behavior?
