I bought a phone from the referred company on 11th July 2018. Barely two months from the purchase date, the phone went dead. I contacted the Sales Person who had sold the gadget to me (contacts exchanged during the purchase), who advised that I contact Trends Manager and LG service centre. I did contact Trends, but they have never been cooperative. I contacted the LG Centre through their designated WhatsApp No. and was advised to send the phone to their Centre, in Nairobi.
The phone has since been delivered, via courier and a confirmation received from LG. However, the technical report reveals that the phone, procured at Kshs.13,000 had a problem with its motherboard in which case Kshs.23,250 for overhaul of the motherboard.
I have been further advised by LG that this is not covered within East Africa and that I have to meet the cost of the repair in the event I would like to move the matter forward.
This came as a surprise to me as during the purchase i was informed that the phone was under 12 month warranty and the receipt has not given any provisions limiting zoning where warranty is applicable.
I spoke with Trends Limited Manager - one Mr. Sam Karanja on 3rd of October who declined to assist.
How do i get remedified for something that is guaranteed and not provided - please assist.
