- Consumer Complaint for WILLARD BATTERIES - HEAD OFFICE

SENDER

On 7 March 2019 I purchased a Willard battery code 106W657 for my Ford Ranger 2.5td.
The vehicle has geen sent for repairs in Modimolle and were sent up and down to Polokwane and back since 3rd Sept 2020.
During this time the Modimolle garage owner complaint that the battery is dead and vehicle needs to be jumpstarted and he subsequently put another battery in.
When I wanted to fetch the vehicle I asked them to give me the battery as it is not yet 2 years old and took it for testing at the Midas outlet in Bela Bela.
They took it and tested it,thereafter they kept it to charge it seeing that the vehicle was not regularly in service because of mechanical issues on the transfer case and front differential.
When fetching the battery I was told they cannot put a claim in for the battery due to a mark on the outer casing.
The back came from the battery clamp holding it in place. It is quite visible but it did not damage the inside portion only the plastic green outside casing.
The battery show 11.5v power and accept charging for a while and then indicate fully loaded and stop charging on my intelligent battery charger.
The charger gets hot and cuts out saving battery and charger.
The battery is supposed to be guaranteed for 25 months but it was not even sent to your manufacturing plant to evaluate the reason for its malfunctioning.
I think the guarantee is only lipservice if the management railroad the customers without sending it to the experts to find reasons for their product not to reach minimum time as per guarantee.
Where to from now?
Regards
