Phone gone for over 6 months - Consumer Complaint for PEP STORES

Bought a phone 2020 before lockdown
And after a month or so the phone started acting up and the screen touch stopped working
After level 4 we took it to pep stores centurion mall
Where the phone was booked for repairs in november
We did not hear anything from them
After some months we noticed WhatsApp on that phone active
We called the store and they told us that can’t be possible because the phone is not working
We asked where was the phone they said they will check for us
They checked and found that the phone was in their possession and in February I went to centurion to check it out and find out what’s happening
They told me that the water was damaged by water therefore it was rejected at the repair centre however they will rebook it as sometime they fix
Stanley the store manager assured me and said that communication will be send to the person who booked the phone in the first time
To date we don’t know what’s happening
I drove back to centurion before when I called they couldn’t help me they said I should come to the store with the receipt
Today I went there
The manager was said to be in lunch
And they said the phone has just been in the store
They don’t think it was rebooked
As a results they gave me the phone back and told me that it can’t be fixed .
Very disappointed with the service
Very disappointed by the way my querie was handled
A waste of money on a phone that was not even used more than 5 months
