Language Barrier - Consumer Complaint for Vodacom - Head Office

Vodacom proudly advertise how they are one of the few service providers who will assist you in YOUR language of choice. However this has proven to be false. Every time i have called and asked to confer in Afrikaans i have been made to wait for north of 20 minutes, after this lengthy i period my wait was broken by a voice recording informing me how they are in demand of Afrikaans speaking employees and that if we would prefer we can press one and have our calls answered by an English speaking person. Once you press one you are immediately assisted.

This is language discrimination and can even appear as an attempt to force Afrikaans people to confer in English. I understand that English is predominant at the moment yet a large portion of their clientele is Afrikaans furthermore it is not only dishonest but also very disappointing to advertise multilingual service and then provide.
