On the 21 December 2020 I phoned Vodacom on 0861 103-195 as instructed by the shop consultant to cancel both my existing contracts that expired in 2019, as I could get a better deal from Telkom. The consultant then advised that he would match the phone deal from Telkom and cancel my data contract. Telkom package offered: iPhone SE (64GB), 1.5GB data and unlimited Telkom to Telkom calls per month for R499 and R40 add for an additional 100Min Talk Time Minutes.
The consultant offered me the iPhone SE, with 2GB data per month for R499 and for an additional R29 a 100 Talk time minutes. The phone was delivered on the 24th of December. When I checked my account online on the 30-Dec, I noticed that he had DOWNGRADED me to a Smart XS package with only 350MB data, not 2GB as agreed and did not cancel my data package. On the 31-Dec I phoned the same number at 8:15 to cancel the contract as the consultant advised that I have 14 days to do so. I left a message, no return call from them. Phoned again at 9:38 and cancelled the contract – spoke to Sekai. Received a Ref# 20665297 with the assurance that the phone will collect within 7-14 days. Phoned them again on 12 January 2021 received another Ref# 2065297 and an SMS saying that my collection request has been added to the collection spreadsheet (Regards Elite Mobile). Followed up again on 21 January and spoke to Nadia at 9:36 who advised it now takes 14-30 days for collection… I then went on to contact Vodacom direct (082 135) on 21 January at 10:47 and spoke to Delene who advised that she would log another call. Then visited the Vodacom shop at Clearwater who advised I contact your Fraud department which I did and they advised their sales team will contact me.
I am still awaiting the phone call and I assume it is never going to happen??? Voice recordings can all be checked as proof - every single conversation is recorded as per Vodacom!!!
