Toni&Guy Hair straightener - Consumer Complaint for Clicks Store - Head Office

I am most unhappy about the service and the way in which my query was dealt with at the Clicks Store at Waterfall corner, Johannesburg.
In October 2018, I purchased a Toni&Guy hair straightener. This product comes with a 5 year guarantee.


When I purchased the product, I was informed to retain my receipt in the event that I needed to return the product or there was a fault etc. (I took a picture of my receipt as the Clicks receipts fade over time). Please find copy of receipt attached.

The hair straightener has unfortunately stopped working, I have kept it with the original bag as well as the heat protector mat that it came with, but I have not kept the box. Logically, who keeps a box for 2 years?
The lady at the store (I unfortunately did not get her name), said that the only way they could do anything to help was if I had the box, she refused to assist any further. This does not make sense at all, the consumer act does not require you to keep the original packaging unless you return the item within the cool off period.

Please could you kindly assist.
