Toilet seat cover - Consumer Complaint for CTM Head Office

I bought items from the Watergate store on 12 Feb 2021 as we had our bathroom remodeled. Last month i noticed a crack in the toilet seat cover. I went back to the store and was told to order a new one at the cost of almost R500. My husband spoke to the manager Mr Botha and was told that it cannot be replaced as there is a warranty on the toilet seat and not on the toilet seat lid. How can it be possible that a toilet seat lid lasts only 3 months unless it was defective.
