I had a contract with Vodacom that commenced in 2016 and expired in 2018. The contract was
renewed in 2018 and expired in October 2020. In September 2020, I notified Vodacom of my
intention to cancel the contract when it expired in October 2020. I received the confirmation of
receipt of email. Instead in November 2020, my account was upgraded without my knowledge or
permission. When I discovered that Vodacom debited my account in December 2020, I reversed
the debit order because the account should have been cancelled as I had requested. I then
contacted Vodacom to cancel the upgrade and the contract. This was the third attempt to cancel
the contract. My account was again debited in January notwithstanding that I had cancelled the
contact three times. Again I contacted Vodacom and was told that the consultant I spoke with had
resigned without cancelling the contract. At this stage, I cancelled Vodacom debit orders with my
bank hence the account is in arrears. I have contacted Vodacom 8 (eight) times via telephone to
request that the contract be cancelled, and I have sent numerous e-mails which I am confident
Vodacom will be in position to provide them. The conduct by Vodacom is appalling and it
unethical unlawful.

Comment I am experiencing the same problem, l've cancelled the upgrades during Jan 2021 up until today, they are Not cancelled, l called vodacom more than 10 times, went to vodacom Mall of the South several times to cancel same, and since l've been told it has been cancelled/reversed, but they've just lied to me. Vodacom are CROOKS. They need to be exposed. I was paying R1500. 31 but now they debited my account for R2365.82 and my next bill is showing R2815.79
