On the 27th of March 2021 I went to Dis-chem Pharmacy at Maponya mall to buy a cough mixture, I was using a medical aid to purchase, the lady that assisted me asked me to produce a proof of identification and a medical aid card, I produced my drivers license then explained to her that the Plan i have with Discovery does not have a Medical aid card its a digital card, however I produced my phone opened the App and showed her my profile from the App.
She wanted me to produce a Membership Certificate and I told her that I don't have it beside my Medical Aid profile is linked with your system, she then transferred me to the Manager, the Manager also wanted me to produce a Membership Certificate, I told the Manager that in this case its not like I'm not producing anything to identify myself but he still denied me the sale of a cough mixture.
I went to Clicks at Maponya with my drivers license and also the discovery App, they sold me the cough mixture.
For the past 2years buying medication at dischem pharmacy using my Medical Aid not at Maponya but Meadowdale, Greystone, Mall of the South and South gate I was never denied to purchase medication.
I'm not a happy customer I would have understood if I didn't produce anything but I tried and still the Manager did not allow me to purchase the cough mixture.
I would like to thank all the shops that allowed me to purchase as for Maponya Mall dischem I'm very disappointed and as a customer I won't buy at dischem anymore especially Maponya mall.
Thank you

I took my 85 year old grandmother to have her prescription filled at the Lakefield Square Dischem. This isn't the first time that we have been there as we go once a month to have her script filled.

Today was the first time I have ever truly been disgusted at how a dischem staff member treated her. My granny is deaf...very deaf and even with hearing aids doesn't hear very well and Malini was rude, impatient and told her, "Look at me and read my lips".
Malini had also removed her face mask so that my 84 your old granny could read her lips!!!!

Now, my granny isn't feeling well and further, we don't want her to contract Covid-19 and here is a dischem staff member disrearding safety regulations because she couldn't be bothered to actually be patient and provide a service!!! Yes there's a giant plastic screen up, but that wouldn't be enough to keep either my gran safe or Malini!!!!

Not every deaf person is able to read lips and you really shouldn't have people dispensing medication to people who may or may not have a disability when they have zero people's skills!

Kathleen Potterton
I am Kathleen Potterton, 62 Moorat Drive, Brackendowns Ext 5. Cell- 066 286 5659.
I have a standard monthly prescription for Methorexate and this is the 2nd time that my tablets have been short supplied. My script was filled on Monday 1/3/2021 and my first metered dosage was taken last night 7/3/2021. This medication is a metered dosage and therefore cannot be taken randomly and now I will be short of 2 weeks supply. Tried calling Dis-chem at Bracken Gardens where I normally fill my scripts...experiencing high call volumes. I cannot keep calling off my cell and I am not able to get to Dis-chem in the week. I paid for 35 tablets and since I was short supplied I request that Dis-chem deliver the shortfall to my house. Frankly I am tired of being told that the correct meds are always supplied so I want a flag against my name for future visits so that the meds are counted in my presence. I carry all costs for the purchasing of more meds, petrol and cell costs and I am fed up. Please ensure that my meds are delivered as this is not a recreational drug, but a life saving one.

I was doing shopping at the vaal mall dis-chem at vanderbiljpark and I was in a queue waiting to make payments, before it was my turn to make payments I saw a flavored drinks in a fridge next me,while was taking them out of the fridge the cashier called and my daughter pushed the trolley and head to the cashier and I rushed to them, I made the payment of all the things in my trolley which amounted to R144, but there was a box of Tea amounting to R24 I did not see that was left in my trolley and I left dis-chem and was heading to my car when the security came to me started going through my trolley and out came a box of Tea. He then told me I had to go back to the shop, I agreed thinking he wanted me to make payment for the tea, but God when I got to the dis-chem I was treated like a a serial shop lifter the supervisor of security (I assume) was the rudest person I have ever meet, he taking pictures of me and and shouting at me like some criminal of the street and when he was finished he told me I had to go pay for the tea. I said after how you treat me never I refused, by this time I was talking back to him and he told me I had an attitude and he was going to call the police and get me arrested. All I know is am not spending my money at dis-chem anymore.

On the 1/2/2021 I was at Dis-chem loch Logan where I encountered one of the most disgusting customer service ever, amongst the items that I bought there were three lipsticks and the price did not correspond with the one on the shelves but I was told by the cosmetics staff that the price is R9.95 even though on the items itself the price was R29.95. So I get to this cashier Tina Rapolaki till 14 and she scans the item but I notice that the prices are not right and I told her specifically about the lipstick and she says to me in her language "ek nie want hier dit wys die prys " and I said to her if you don't know call someone who might know cause I would assume that the first thing that should pop into her mind would be to call a manager or supervisor for assistance instead she answered me with such arrogance and disrespect, it was as if she is bored and forgot that the very same customers are paying her salary that's how rude she was, and whilst waiting for the price this cashier went
on about how drunk she is going to get and what was irritating the most she was chewing a gum as if she is at the party and her musk was not even properly put on, I mean when we go to a store we expect professionalism not circus and definitely not to hear about your cashiers drunketsness behaviour and staff members like her will cost the store to lose customers to other competitors, she is a disgrace to the Dis-chem brand, and i wonder how many customers have left the store unhappy because of her also the management level of disciplined is questionable in this regard

On the 25th January I went to your Somerset store to collect my mom's chronic medication this is her monthly supply and to my dismay it wasn't prepared not surprised as this has been the case and becoming a norm.To poursalt on my wound one of your agent was so eager to assist a Mrs Swanepoel whom her medication was prepared. She wasn't concerned about my plight because I am a nobody who doesn't deserve acknowledgement afforded to Mrs Swanepoel. Does your staff know about the sms system to order chronic medication or they simply do not care about the incovenience they put me through because I am just a stupid black person who doesn't deserve respect. I have been a loyal member of your organisaton for decades and have been making use of your Somerset branch for ages and I always find your pharmacy staff ignorance bizarre while your retail staff interaction with me has been superb.

Kind Regards

Yesterday at about 3 in the afternoon I went to Dis-Chem Maponya mall to complain about my medication cause they gave me medication that was short with 5 days supply.

I spoke to the dispensary manager and explain that they have counted my medication wrong. He told me to come back on Monday when the person who was helping me is on duty, I asked the dispensary manager to see if all my medication can fit in the container is in. He refused because he can see that I’m saying a valid point. He refused.

I then spoke to the assistant store manager, the assistant store manager said for him to help me his going to check the video futage what happened that day on the 20 th of December when a came to fetch my meds. He then saw on the footage that yes my meds where wrongly calculated, he then told the manager to come and see what’s on the cameras. He refused

I took my baby for a 6 weeks vaccination at Dis-Chem Maponya Mall on 04/11/2019.

My baby received 2 injections and one oral drops.

Only when I went to a local clinic for the baby’s 14 weeks vaccination was I asked why my baby didn’t get his OPV1 oral drops.

I didn’t know he was supposed to receive 2 types of oral drops (OPV1 & RV1)

I went back to Dis-Chem to find out what happened. Firstly, I was told that the Nurse/Sister who helped me on that day is retired. Then I was told that on the day I came for the 6 weeks vaccination, they were out of stock on OPV1 oral drops.

I asked why was I not informed. They claim she forgot to inform me.

I think think act was negligent given the fact that all vaccinations are important for every child. I paid R1100 for a full vaccination. If I knew they were out of stock, I never would have proceeded with to the vaccination, I would have opted to go elsewhere.

This is disappointing and Dis-Chem must take responsibility for their actions.
