I have been a long term client of Avis Sunninghill for around 8months. The Avis agent who did the last vehicle inspection did not have an inspection form to note previous scratches on the last vehicle I rented, and said they would note it upon returning to their computer. Upon returning the vehicle on 17 May 2021, they now say the scratches are from me. The scratches are also underneath the bumper which would not have been seen on an inspection unless the inspector got underneath the vehicle which they didn't. I dispute this completely. I will escalate this further if need be as I am being falsely accused and charged for something which is not caused by me.

Good day

I wish to express my utter disappointment at the poor service and lack of humanity/common courtesy displayed by one shown by one Sam Sekanka from your Pretoria Schoeman Street branch.

I am an Iwyze Insurance client that was supposed to collect a courtesy car from your branch yesterday at 14h00 at the advice of Avis which I had been told is the only branch in Pretoria that would have a vehicle. I unfortunately failed to collect same and came today at around 14h15. Mr Sesanka rudely assisted me by telling me that my booking had been cancelled as Avis policy was that if a vehicle is not collected within a 2 hour time frame the booking is cancelled. When I queried if Mr. Sekanka could not at least assist with checking the nearest branch that could maybe assist so that I could then request Iwyze to amend the booking he dismissed me by telling me that it was not his duty to do so and I must phone whoever branch of AVIS to check on stock availability.s

Whilst I understand and appreciate Avis’ policy, it would have been nice for your employee to at least pay some attention to me whilst explaining such instead of going about other paperwork and not address my issue in a respectful manner. I am not sure is such behaviour is premised on the fact that AVIS is the largest car rental company and hence doesn’t care about its customers.

This is truly disappointing and had I had the option from the insurance company, I would most certainly go shop somewhere else on the basis of the disrespect displayed by this employee of yours.

I would urge you to coach him to have a bit of “ubuntu” and respect towards other clients or redeploy him to the washbay away from any interactions with customers.

A couple of days after collecting the vehicle I got phone calls (twice) from the Sunninghill branch. They enquired regarding the rental vehicles registration number. When I asked why, they said; there is another Avis vehicle with a duplicate Registration number.
A few days after that a man phoned me and asked me if I can confirm all my details for him, which includes my ID number and Account details.When I asked him why, he replied; They had lost all my documentation that I had completed or given them, when I went to collect the vehicle. I said that he should phone me later. He called me later saying that a member has misplaced the documentation but that that they found it.
Last week I placed a complaint through to the complaints department; how on earth can someone put hub caps on a vehicle without fastening the caps with cable ties or by another means. Obviously one or more of the hub caps will fall off or all of the hub caps will get stolen. That is negligence and incompetence on AVIS behalf. I was told by the customer service that it is my problem if one of my hub caps went missing.
All of this if completely unacceptable. I refuse to take responsibility for a lost hub cap and will ensure to take this matter further on various platforms if AVIS wants to hold me liable for their incompetence of not fastening the hub caps to the wheels.
I have had enough trauma with my vehicle accident and the insurance claim and don't need more from a company that doesn't; appear to know what is going on

Paid for a rental booking in Feb 2020 - in full - in advance for rental in July 2020 (3301-8906-ZA-4 PP). Booking was changed due to Covid to Nov 2020 (paid more money to make this happen). Then cancelled booking due to covid. Was assured i would receive a refund. Contacted AVIS 7 times to date, without a single cent refund. This is rediculous if not theft. WHERE IS MY REFUND?

I hired a car on the 5th of March 2021 and returned it on the 7th of March 2021 with a full tank of fuel. They told me that because I bank with Nedbank I will have my money in 3 to 5 working days. I sent several messages and tried calling but to no avail. They have asked for info pertaining to this refund and I sent it through but still nothing. They told me on the 19th of March it will be in my account in 24 hours it's now 96 hours and counting. I called my bank that said that Avis needs to send out a release letter to the money can be released on their side. I am going to the media and engage in an attorney and get Avis to pay all costs.

No one wants to direct me to the person who can help they don't even want to give me ceo email address.
They always say they but when you ask to speak to they they don't want it just seems like Avis Bloemfontein or is it all the Avis they hiding ppl. They say even if I can talk to the ceo there is nothing he can do he wont help me. What kind of ceo who can't help clients. Did the ceo tell them that he or she doesn't want to help.
I'm so disappointed. If I don't get help as they say no one at avis or Barloworld will want to help me....... I will flood how this ppl treat us

Good day

Kindly note that I'm very much not satisfied with the company freezing my deposit for this long. It reflects on my account but not as available funds. I rented two times with Avis. One deposit is going to 3 months now and the other to 2 months.

I was told that it takes 30 days even thou I used a cheque card. 3 months seem to be absurd.

I've sent emails with no help to your enquire desk. What am I missing?
I called my bank and they told me it should be released by avis not them.

Kindly let me know what seems to be the problem

I am struggling to get back the money i payed for the holding balance when i was taking the car rental on the 19/11/20 via iwys insurance,the car was brought back on the 22/12/20,according to Lorain i suppose to get the money on the 22/01/21 the amount of R1,500 till todae the 28 nothing .

I  have a problem with the Avis Kimberley branch. I was double charged for the damage that was not done by me. I went to Kimberley branch to see where is the damage that occur. I was told that the car is no longer there. I requested a full photo of the car to  see the damage. We couldn't see the damage. I spoke to the Manager and he promised to reimburse me.  It was on the 04 December 2020 and I haven't yet received my money back.  When I call the Manager he doesn't answer the phone. 


I am really not happy the way how my case was done. I  really need my money.

I was charged extra one day than being informed telephonically. During the signing of rental agreement. I was never told of rental period in hours. I peruse contract agreement. Neither i could find one day extra charge if the car is return on the agreed date. But not coinciding with 24 hours. Consultant failed to show me where written the agreement signed. I did not sign on vehicle submission due to dispute. My account was unlawfully charged with unauthorised deduction. Please I request for justice in order to have my extra one day refund.

I need my money back into my account what avis is doing is day light robbery last time i was told to check with the general bank I have done that std bank has confirmed there was never an amount released, secondly Ive been checking my current balance it has'nt increased because now avis is hiding in the name of its not gonna be shown on transactions im aware of that. I would appreciate if I can be given whats due to me without instead of getting robbed. Doing business with avis gives hell of a frustration.

I haven't received my refundable deposit of R2880 back into my account its been more than a month now. The car was returned back to avis on the 3rd of August in time and undamaged, I have sent many emails to customer service and called avis several times I was told to send an email I have done that but still I haven't been helped. This whole thing of avis not returning my money back into my account is now frustrating me and I have checked with my bank (std bank)there's no money that was ever released back into my account I really don't understand why is avis doing this to clients its unethical.

I went to avis isando on the 28th of august and swiped with my nedbank cheque card for 2 amount of R530 and R3861.00 for the rental and the transaction went through it was approved and i have the slips on the 1st of Sept 2020 a amount of R3861.24 and another R90.00 went of my account with the reference Avis but i did not approve any debits on this account i spoke to nedbank and they said avis must reverse the R3861.24 and the R90.00 immediately as this is fraud

Did they reverse the amount? Same thing has just happened to me and my account has been left with an overdraft when I don’t even have an overdraft facility with my bank!

Avis/Budget O.R. Tambo, tell me my why have you fraudulently taken money out of my credit card?!!! I was in the middle of making an inquiry in preparing for request to extend my car rental and your phone got cut off. Instead of the operator obtaining my 2 contact numbers from my existing invoice and calling me back, she went ahead and made a purchase using my credit card details WITHOUT MY AUTHORISATION NOR CONFIRMATION!!!! This is FRAUD! RA no: 831236210. Fix it!
