I joined the gym in Fourways around March 2020 before the lockdown. I wanted to join under discovery Vitality so because i did not have the once off money that you pay to get the Vitality package the consultant said i should join under the R599 membership and i must come before the 28th of March to come pay the once off money then they will change my contract to Vitality. I went to the gym on the 20th and the 24th and i was told that the Admin department is already on Lockdown therefore there is nothing the can do and it wont affect me. After the lockdown when Gyms were reopening i saw that you debited me r599 i went back to the Gym to fix this and i was speaking to the guy called Siboniso and i explained my story and he promised to get back to me and he never did. On the 7/Dec/2020 i wrote an email to customer service explaining my story and on the 12th a lady called me and said that they saw my email and she will speak to her manager to override previous premiums and she or her manager will call me and tell me when must i go to the gym to rejoin under discovery...I never received a call. January the 5th i wrote another email wanting to cancel as what i was promised never happened they i got a repose saying they going to debit me R3015 and this shows the person did not even take time to read my email.
My aim was not to cancel but rather fix my contract so that i can pay what i can afford. I still say please STOP debiting my account if your are not ready to fix this mess

Good day

Today I logged a complaint as I am gyming on my boyfriends black tag, he completed the forms and his debit order was more so everything is in order. We have been gyming for 3 weeks and nobody told us anything is wrong. We asked the lady infront what can be done so that we do not have to stay in the que so long and she advised we should file a complaint and I send a email.

The manager, is a lady and when I came in she didnt great she just said you are the one complaining and your not even the main member. I tried to explain what her staff advised me to do. She said if I have a complaint like that I must email the president as she cant do anything about the problem. I feel personally offended as I didnt want her to misuse her role as manager to try and make a point as I am only a guest who is paid for to gym at your franchise. She did not adhere to your code of ethic by being respectful and treating me in a manner I wish to be treated. She also said she is a lawyer and I feel threatened as I didnt want to know her status , I also have a laywer must I bring him with to have a conversation with her as she thinks I cant think on her level or what is it, because she is a manager she thinks she can undermine me as a person?? She didnt just leave it she came back up and wanted to argue some more after we went in and just wanted to gym I was frustrated and I told my boyfriend in what manner and disrespect she treated me.

I feel victimized and discriminated against and I will never recommend your gym to anyone as this is in the manner your employees treats its customers. With a manner of utter disrespect and arrogance.

We went to Planet fitness Plattekloof and we spoke to sales person Greg. He explained the deals and we said, we will cancel our current gym membership with their competitors. We activated Discovery Vitality which we will spend more money in order for us to get the benefits of the gym membership. After informing Greg we are ready to come in and do the deal, in turns out that he left out the part whereby we have to pay extra and now we are not happy with the information that was given to us. We feel misled and we have now extra expenses we need to look at without any gym membership. The manager called me to say that your head office has declined the deal that was explained to us, cause of certain incompetent sales people who are hiding behind the fact that gave us the wrong information in the first place. I am taking this matter to the Ombudsman for the misleading information that caused us to make extra debt.

According to my contract I have to pay for the forts 3 months R199 and black tag of R99. 2nd stage R279 and for the black tag R100. Lock down was the Gym closed. And my Contract expired August 2020. How can I owe planet fitness R 2000.00 if I played last in March 2020

I joined PF with VITALITY.

In May 2019 I asked to cancel VITALITY and my PF membership and was given TWO emails by PF to send my cancellation request to.

Since then, I have had R799 deducted monthly as I had also cancelled VITALITY and PF simply decided to keep my membership active.

Now that I am querying it, they are telling me that I sent my cancellation to the WRONG emails!! And now they want PROOF that the emails were received as I pointed out that they should have told me they were wrong on receipt of my email!! QUINCY is the consultant that I have been dealing with as he was the one who enrolled me initially at the Fourways branch.

I am going insane with their ineptitude and going round in circles. I have to speak to incompetent, call cente agents that don't give a fig and who can't help and I cannot be put through to accounts... I would like to be reimbursed for the money taken out of my account after May 2019

Planet Fitness is one of the worst institutes I have dealt with! This gym has extremely bad service from employees and are they steal your money out your account and then unlock you from doing a reversal... I will take this much further if no once contacts me to resolve!!! Planet Fitness should FALL!!

I used to work as a Sales consultant for them years ago, I went to a PF club in Cape Town and I found that the people employed as sales people does not have the ability to make a prospective client understand all the processes from enrolling of membership till how to cancel the membership. They just want to get the deals on the board and forget about after sales service. Poor customer service and business practice

Even after I paid planet fitness more than enough we still cannot access the gym .The money did go off from my account, it is paid, in full. Planet fitness still harass us with sms's that we did not pay, the problem is on their side, not ours. Now, even when we paid we cannot gym.

I had the same problem last year,paid them,send proof of payment various times to the head office and the club and for almost 2 months they could not sort it out..Now again got new problem with them..

I am totally disappointed with planet fitness. We took out a membership for my sister and our contract stated we would pay R199 per month. Two months later when my sister tried to go to the gym they wouldn't let her in and told her that our membership is not paid up, keep in mind that I have a debit order going off for the membership. I checked my bank statement and saw that all the debit orders have gone off. When I enquired at the planet fitness branch they told me that I will need to pay more because the amount that I was paying, the amount on the contract was a promotion so I now need to pay more. Why was this not told to me when I took out the membership and why does it not state that on the contract? We have been going back and forth with head office and they told me to sort it out with the branch. I went to the branch and all they can say is that the consultant made a mistake and I need to pay the difference if my sister wants to continue coming to the gym. Now who's problem is it that the consultant doesn't know how to do their job properly? I was told at the branch that I'll just be paying an extra R80 every month and why am I making a big deal over such a small amount of money? Truth is, it's not about the money but it's really unprofessional to handle matters in this way. I should've been informed of the promotion in the first case. Really bad service. I wouldn't recommend planet fitness to anyone. I am currently trying to cancel my membership but no one is answering my emails. Please train your employees properly or atleast handle things in a professional manner

In 2018 one of your consultants at mall@carnivalenrolled a 2 year membership with my daughter while she was and still is unemployed...I told the guy she does not sign anything unless I'm present yet he proceeded... lockdown came no debits were taken ger contract expire jan 2021... the bank close her account due to no funds for a period... therefore any further threats in regards to payment will be taken to court for negligence and insufficient ITC search ... name Zane Pretorius ID .0001260211089 if this account is not closed with immediate effect I'll take you to ombudsman for selling contracts to minor unemployed. I PHONED THE CUSTOMER CALL CENTRE NUMEROUS TIMES TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AS I FOUND OUT I NEEDE A BACK OPERATION AS WELL AS HAVE OSTEOARTHRITIS IN MY BACK.MYS DISKS COLLAPSED.SOMEDAYS I CANNOT WALK.I SUBMITTED MRI SCAN AS WELL AS A DOCTORS LETTER AS THE REQUESTED.I HAVE TO SAVE FOR THE OPERATION,AS ITS VERY EXPENSIVE.I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY A GYM MEMBERSHIP ANYMORE.THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT I MUST NOT TELL HIM HOW TO RUN HIS BUSSINESS AND THAT I AM STILL LIABLE FOR A CANCELLATION FEE OF R1600,AS I DO NOT HAVE A TERMINAL ILNESS. I’d like to lodge a complaint about the trainer Fisiwe at planet fitness Sterland Mall the piercing music she plays during classes
She does not consider us “other” trainers who are not part of the class. The noise is too loud that is soo unbearable.

I have canceled my membership and spoke to three ladies. The first lady did my cancelation, second lady said I didn't cancel so I need to carry on paying, third lady figured out my cancelation and send me the remaining balance which I paid for that day sending proof of payment. I've had the amount then taken off my account 2 months in a row after canceling my membership with THREE different ladies. This is all very annoying as during covid I lost my job and I can't even afford to eat and money keeps getting taken off my account and NOONE IS GETTING BACK TO ME.

I will have to take this furthur if it is not sorted out by January latest. This is madness.

My account was sent to Resaya . Who are charging me money that was due and adding their legal fees. I cannot be paying Resaya legal fees as there was no contract signed by me with Resaya that I will be doing so. I did not request for Resayas services. I have sent several emails to customer service at planet fitness to cancel my account directly with them because I refuse to pay off or cancel my account with Resaya. I will not allow Resaya and planet fitness to defraud me any longer.

I joined the gym only to have to cancel due to an injury. I contacted the gym with a doctor's letter, paid the final bill. All seemed to be accepted by the Planet Fitness. Then I started receiving collection emails. I sent them the relevant information. They do not respond to this but every month they send the collection demand again. This is over a year now and they won't stop. What am I supposed to do????

My 19 year olds debit card linked to my account is being billed daily. $130.09 so far in 14 days. My son joined two months ago and signed a contract for $15.00 per month. This happened to my account years ago and I didn't even have a membership!!!! Nor did anyone in my family. Why they are aloud to even process credit cards and MC and Visa has not shut them off yet is beyond me.I think people at the desk steal information and set up duplicate accounts. I am reporting this matter to DC, the CFPB, to the Massachusetts Attorney General, MC, Visa and the Massachusetts DOB.

I havnt been 2 the gym since March when lock down started.

I took out a 2 year contract for my son. I was not notified as per the Consumer act that the contract was expiring within 40 days. My son's access was blocked but then the deductions continued on my account. The contract ended in March 2019. mailed PF and came to an agreement that the contract be paid until end Oct 2019. received a mail confirmation that this was the case. Then out of the blue a deduction on my account..... the sales person told PF that we agreed to an extention ( suppose he got the commission) there is no signed contract in place. I would like to request a copy of the contract or the "agreement conversation" for my own sanity. WE DO NOT EVER EVER EVER want anything to do with PF again. I am so pissed off and ready to go to the ombutman, I accepted my mistake on the original notice of cancellation and paid 6 months worth of fees for that. Sorry but this is not good for your name in the industry. It shows not ethics. Can you please communicate with me in writing, I can not take a chance that I end up with another contract that I most definitely do not want. My son is Dewaldt Pelser if you need to find that info on your system.

Planet Fitness is very fast to threaten with legal action and "black listing". As a consumer and former client I find it disgusting that they are not able to share the "confirmation conversation" where we are supposed to have agreed to another contract. WHY on this earth would we agree to another contract after we requested a cancellation of the contract?????? AND received a confirmation of the cancellation in writing? Surely if you have this info it can be shared with the person that was "supposed to have agreed to the contract" DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Silence seem to be golden - from Planet fitness side that is.... you have my details please communicate! Kindly send me the recording where I agreed to an extension of my contract? When we first signed up I returned 3 times because the paperwork on your side had to be accurate... Where is my signed contract that you claim I have with you now???? Just send it for the specific dates after I officially cancelled the original contract.

We have canceled our membership 4 months ago via written email cancellation, yet Planet Fitness continues to debit our account monthly.

We can't call to query as we get pushed from pillar to post.
Nor are our emails acknowledged.

I would like to escalate this to someone who can assist with ensuring we are removed from your system and debit and membership cancelled as per ALL our previous requests.

I have the same problem. I cancelled my membership over a year ago, they continue to deduct the money from my account but they have handed me over to attorneys in which you cant even get through to these attorneys. I was handed over within a month of sending my notice of cancellation.
I tried to call the Planet Fitness call center and they told me nonsense about how the debit needs to continue until my contract ends and I must settle the lawyer fees. I have never experienced such bad service honestly.
