I bought a ASUS laptop on the 14th March 2021 for study purposes, This was recommended by a MAKRO CENTURION employee. I used the laptop for just a week and when going home from work because for Easter holidays on the 19th March I forgot the laptop charger at my flat then on the 22nd second the laptop battery just died without any indication of it being flat but that wasn't much of a worry as I could borrow another to continue with my school work until returning back to my flat. on 6th upon return to my flat I plugged it into the charger but nothing happened, left it the whole day still and the whole night still nothing. in the morning decided to drive back home to get the receipts and return it the stores. arriving at the stores I was surprised by the VERY VERY POOR AND VERY VERY BAD SERVICE I received from the manager (Lwando Matiwane) especially. Because I believe the lady at the return department referred me to him so he could make a sound decision in his capacity as a manager but instead he turned to be worst than the assistant self, showing lack of accountability only does what he is told and how he is told should there come a challenging issue hides behind a thumb.

I explain to him my problem and that I have school work I need to submit in a week's time and already I have lost some time due to this problem and where I am I can't get help with another laptop therefor I need a replacement or refund so I can get something I can use because I paid a lot of money for the studies and I stand to loose that money should I fail to submit the work I must. first he tells me he must book it in and I should wait until their supplier has assessed it the they can decide what next, obviously that would work for me then he suggests he can arrange with the supplier that I take it to them so I can get some real time service, although that was still not good enough for me because I didn't buy that laptop from the supplier but MAKRO therefor I expect MAKRO to take accountability for my money I entrusted with them. I decided okay make that arrangement because I need to get this right so I can continue with my business. after the call he tells me the supplier doesn't do walk-ins so we back to square one.

then he puts me on the phone with someone from ASUS the manufacturer to say the least that was the RUDEST TELEPHONE CALL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever come across I am still wondering how Companies can put such disrespectful people behind phones to deal with their customers. the guy literally hung up the phone on my ears when I asked to speak to his superior.

back to MAKRO MANAGER who then said 'sorry that I can help you bra, from here it's up to you you leave it or take it I honestly don't care as you saw I tried to help you" I got so messed up and said to him I am sorry you feel that way but let me tell you, keep your laptop and keep the money too I definitely do not need your service it the worst and walked out the shop.


All in all the service I got from MAKRO CENTURION was very bad and I hope it doesn't happen with other customers

It's been so long since I was promised to hear from Makro in 48 hours maybe they do not understand the nature of the urgency of my complaint. I shall send an email to [email protected] maybe someone can deal with my case with some sense of urgency

Hisense Smart TV that we bought is nothing Smart to rave about. We have been given the run around by Makro staff pertaining our TV for the last 2years. We sensing our TV back, it was supposedly repaired and yet a few days later this darn TV is still giving issues. It freezes while watching Netflix or YouTube. We even had our WiFi checked and used another brand TV to check and there were no issues at all. Clearly its the Hisense TV. I demand a refund ASAP or provide me with a different brand TV. I need my issues resolved today. I will be lodging a complaint against Hisense as well and make this complaint known on sns as well.ref#2697009

Bought a Hi Sense 18 kg washing machine on the 18/01/2021 at Carnival ...on 11/03/2021 the machine could not function and I found out that the plate at the bottom was broken...called the shop and filed complaint (1440847)...they said will send technician...16/03/21 some guy called me to ask for serial number...no updates..

I DON'T WANT THE MACHINE ANYMORE..I WANT TO EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER BRAND...I CAN EVEN ADD EXTRA MONEY FOR ANOTHER BRAND.

I bought a grinder 3 weeks ago. it was working fine till yesterday. now its making a horrible noise and does not run the way it should. i phoned for an exchange as per cpa( i have the right to exchange/refund/repair). The manager Carabello openly refused. She insists that the cpa does not matter. I have to take it in to store and have it send away for inspection and then repair. This is illegal to expect me to have it repaired as it only lasted 3 weeks ( 5 times use) I will be taking this to the CPA. I will not be bullied like this and it WAS the Last time I and anyone that i speak to will ever Buy at this Makro in Bloemfontein again. I am very dissapointed in this treatment.

I bought veuve clicquot from Riversands on Thursday 25th March 2021, I opened it on Friday 26th March 2021 and it was foul smelling and tasted off and musky. Im in the Free State right now and it was part of my weekend getaway stock, and I would like to return it for a replacement. I'm back in Johannesburg tomorrow and I'm happy to drop it off at Makro.

I purchased 3 shirts from Makro Carnival on Thursday. I was charged for 4 shirts as one of them was duplicated. I raised this with Customer Care but was informed I must go back to the store to sort it out. This is not acceptable. I am a pensioner and it is a 50 km round trip to the store. I bought an HP laptop from Makro Vaal on the 4th of January 2020 . During the last week of July 2020 the laptop could not be switched on . Unfortunately I got Covid-19 on the 2nd of August , and because we could not travel across the Gauteng border (We live in Sasolburg in the Freestate ) I could not take it to Makro Vaal . I thought that it was only a battery problem , and phoned Network Computer Wireless who came to my house and collected the laptop . They later phoned me and told me that it was not a battery problem , and that they could not fix it . They recommended that I take it back to Makro . When the borders opened I took it to Makro on 28 August 2020 . It was sent away and I received it back on 28 October 2020 . No explanation of the repairs was given . Just said "repaired with part ". The laptop came on , but it was very slow.(not what I think I paid for initially). I took it back on 6 November 2020 . It was sent away again . I received it back on 18 January 2021 . Again the note said "repaired". I took it back on 5 February 2021. Again it was sent away to a "repair agent"reference number 2692664. I have not had any feedback or follow up . To phone Makro Vaal is a nightmare . The details of my laptop is as follows : Article HP C17/8 GB/ 1TB / 15.6" Barcode 193808547560. I think the product was sent to the supplier .
My opinion is that the staff at Makro Vaal is efficient in sending away the product . However the repairs department's or the supplier's after sales service is extremely poor and insufficient . Since 28 August 2020 I have been without a proper working laptop . I request that you investigate this matter and try to help me resolve it . Thank you . Anton van der Walt

I have ordered a keyboard combo valkano online and another keybord and mouse.

The valkano combo mouse worked for a week. I phoned Makro Alberton and asked them if i can return this to the store and replace, the answer was NO for I purchased this online.

Tried to phone the call centre couple of times, they just dont answer.

I started emailing and eventually the collected the Valkano Combo - keyboard and mouse from my work

Norman Dilley at last responded back they will collect this on the 24th of February - which they did.

On the 25th of Trevor Rebello i received and email a new collection will be send to supplier.

on the 9 March received an email that your replacement will be dispatched tomorrow - know
the 12th of March

i have been in isolation and now back and on the 19th of March i send another email that i need my replacement or a refund.

NO ONE HAS COME BACK TO ME, TODAY IS THE 25TH OF MARCH AND BATTLE SINCE THE SECOND WEEK OF JANUARY TO REPORT WITH THE CALL CENTRE - THEY DONT ANSWER PHONES.

I HAVE TRIED THE MAKRO ALBERTON - THEY CANT HELP ME AND THEY HAVE ESCALATED ALSO THE QUERY TO ONLINE PURCHASES.

I SEND EMAILS ON EMAILS AND ALL I GET IS PROMISES.

I HAVE PAID FOR THIS AND GOT NOTHING.

I NEED A REFUND ON MY PURCHASE FOR TODAY IS THE 25TH OF MARCH 2021 AND I THINK SOME ONE ELSE CAN GIVE ME BETTER SERVICE AND REPLACEMENT.

Please note that i had called the extended warranty department on the 15 th of February 2021 with regards to my washing machine not working.

I have made several calls, however, the machine has not been fixed. Despite my numerous calls, there is no response from anyone else regarding this matter. Its only myself that has to flow up. This matter will soon reach 6 weeks, I must say that your services are not up to standard.

I am very upset. I need the machine to be fixed as soon as possible.

Please could you give me details of the manager involved in this department to log a complaint of such unprofessional and terrible service.

We bought a television at Makro wonderboom for R30 000,00.

We opened the television after 14 days. it had a dark spot on screen, we returned, makro wonderboom says we should it fix.

Please note that we did not enjoy not a single second of that tv, yet we are asked to repair it ourselves.

the tv is a samsung 82 inch model. it still at makro wonderboom and they refuse to exchange a brand new tv.

please kindly assist.

Hi. My name is Tumi.

Today I visited one of your stores Makro Crown Mines"Cnr Main Reef Road & Hanover".

At the till I was assisted by Cashier no. 69 at 11:38. She is the rudest employee I have come across at Makro with no work ethic whatsoever. No communication skills with clients and not professional at all. Upon paying for my groceries she rudely "tells" me to push my groceries closer to her as her till doesnt work properly. I did just that and decided to ignore her behaviour. No one was packing the groceries so we had to wait for her to pack the first half she had scanned which after packing she left on the floor even when my partner had pushed the trolley closer to her so that she can put all the bags in the trolley.

My partner had to pick them off the floor and pack them in the trolley.

She then scanned the second half. Once she was done and I had paid she screams to the supervisor in the next cubicle that she needs to go to the toilet. She then locked her system and left the grocery on the till unpacked. My partner asked if she was done and she said "PACKING IS NOT MY JOB. THERE ARE PACKERS" and she just left us standing at her till. My partner had to pack the groceries by himself with no packer assisting.

This is all happening whilst the supervisor is standing there doing nothing or reprimanding her staff member.

Is this the service given to black individuals only? I had looked around the store and other racial individuals were assisted with packing.

There are many individuals that are in desperate need for a job i dont thing this lady is happy to have her job.

She doesnt even know who she was serving and what I do.

Please teach your staff communication skills and work ethics. After this experience I will not refer any family member or friend to that Makro...

Service there is awfully bad!!!

Good morning i was at Makro yesterday to do a refund for my sinotecTv since the supplier wasn't able to fix it ...the returns manager was very rude , shouted and scorned at me like i was a retard and said she can't help me without the accessories ...i requested for Sinotec contact contact number and makro email,she refused instead took my number ...and said they will call sinotec to find out how much are they going to deduct from my credits since i don't have accessories...i left Makro in a not so good mood

Makro cornubia has a set of pioneer speakers 6inch 280w advertised on promotion. I get to the store the gent who helped said there's no stock. Why do you advertise things that you do not have? The barcode of the item is on the shelf despite you not having it and after asking seems you can't get it.

Some people drive really far to shop at your store. You should have stock before blindly advertising. I would appreciate feedback on this.

And yes I do still want to buy the item at the advertised price...
