I'm an SBS student and for the past 2 semesters have been getting my study guide via Paxi courier at PEP.

2 week ago went to collect study material as usual, stood on the normal queue for over 10 min and when I got to the cashier she told me to stand on the side there's a different queue for parcel collection. I asked why are they not communicating or put notice boards no answer just looked at me like a fool. Today, went back for a parcel collection again and stood on the side I was shown last time for parcel collection after a while no one is taking note of me a lady tells me that it's busy I must stand on the normal queue.
Please tell me what kind of service is that, what is so difficult for your staff to be consist communicate with shoppers on the queues. The queue was so long but I dont mind that, what about the fact that I was already qeuing for so long and now had to go at the back of a long queue. Please get your staff in order, they have a terrible attitude, there's no manager visible to ensure social distancing on that long queue as well. I will also report this to the school so that they dont send my study material via Paxi.

Thank you I have never being insulted like that and by the way I used the same proof of address to buy the router at Ackermans and now I'm using it.

I bought a cellphone in and June 2020 at pep Mayville , it broke after 3 months and I returned it. It took 9 weeks a lot of fighting with the employees to get a new phone because they couldn't repair the broken on, two weeks ago the new one broke and guess what? They told me to wait. Apparently pep has no policy on the turn around time for repairs so basically you have to wait for as long as they feel necessary.

My grandmother went to Pep Store Port Edward to courier a parcel to Mall of the South, they didn't help her because she didn't know the Mall of the South store code. she had to return back and asked someone to google a store code. Imagine to sent back a GRANDMOTHER. Even the manager CAVIN (if spelt correctly) couldn't help, she was the one to send my grandmother back.

Pep in Willowvale(E.C) they have dstv decoders on display but cannot sell to us and no one come with a valid reason why not. Only answer you get "can't punch it on the system.

Sadly we budget for these things and when you need to know they also don't know.

At least remove these on display if they don't know anything about it.

Tomorrow i will just go at ackermans in Dutywa for better service don't care about better offer anymore just know that you gonna lose plenty of customers because of the attitude you have in your stores

PEP customers may find the following article of interest:

Having visited PEP’s Scottburgh, KZN branch and purchased three identical shirts of varying colour, I was shocked upon paying for said items, as although the garments were on the same rail, each had questionable ascending price tags.

The garment displayed foremost was valued at R59.99, the second R99.99 and the last an astronomical R149.99. Naturally, I queried this extraneous pricing, expressing the fact that this is deliberately misleading in the interest of profit. Whereupon, the Manageress, informed me the cheaper garments were ‘old stock’ and special offer sales...strange, as they were not marked as such? So were the garments sale items or staggered price hikes?
Does the refrain, ‘figures can’t lie but liars can figure’, ring a bell in this scenario? Who knows?

In the interest of fair trading, I contacted the CEO, Mr Jaap Hamman who’s PA , I assume, as he is on vacation, passed the matter over to Mr Baxter, Regional Manager.
After a so-called investigation he instigated, I was presented with what appears to represent, a mammoth cover-up riddled with company Newspeak...better known as gobbledegook.

Herewith is a list of PEP’s policies as presented to me and apparently endorsed by PEP’s acting CEO.

a) It is custom and practice for ‘sale’ offers to be displayed on full price garment rails at times, the sale items foremost...non-sale items rearmost... Oh, really?
b) One cash register only to be available at opening time to thwart cash heists.
c) At opening time, refunds cannot be honoured because of small till float.
d) Customers’ complaints receive dignity and respect and acted upon at all times.

Excluding (a) from the list as being dubious, one can comprehend business acumen regarding b,c,and d. However, (d) is also questionable should complainants receive a seemingly ambiguous reply such as I?

In conclusion, was I ripped off, are all PEP’s stores ripping us off wholesale?
Possibly, the CEO, Mr Jaap Hammon, will justify his pricing practices within this column? Possibly not...

I was at PEP in Hatfield today 21 January. Boikanyo was serving. She needs proper customer care training. In fact maybe I'd say the entire staff because as we were looking for stuff on the shelves one lady squeezed herself between us never asked to be excused no greeting nothing. In this COVID infested climate these days. Boikanyo served a lady ahead of us and this lady asked for her drinking glasses to be wrapped she said they don't wrap. I have bought at PEP Gezina. You would swear these are 2 different shops. No greeting from Boikanyo. I handed her money to pay she dropped my changed on the counter. I asked her why she isn't handing me back my change in my hands. She shouted next! For the next customer paying no attention to me! I'm appalled.

Today I was at Pep at Esikhawini in the Spar building ( I am not familiar with the area yet) However, the main issue here is ill treatment I was given when I visited the store.

I went there in attempt to buy protective (overalls) clothing for work purposes. It was my first time in that store so I asked the employee who was closer to me at that time, where their fitting rooms are and the cleaning lady showed me the fitting rooms( that lady had a name tag written "Sindi"), I went there and fitted that work suit but it was too big (it didnt fit me) so I took it back to the rails, as I was headed to the rails, pep employees closed the store and came up to me, shouting...saying they are not happy with "how I do things" and using all sorts of vulgar language one can think of and started physically searching me (female employees, physically searching a male customer). I want to know if thats how pep actually conducts business, is this part of your principles or what? Im still traumitised by the humiliation I went through

I would appreciate a response as soon as possible, due to the seriousness of these allegations, I can have the crimes of Defamation of Character, Indirect Assault, Infringement of various constitutional rights, violation of Criminal Procedure Act, against opened against Pep stores as well as its employees. I would appreciate a written response for future purposes
