I called in June 2020 requesting cancellation of membership, however I was told that there will be a cancellation fee. I couldn't pay the fee at the time due to Covid so I requested my membership be cancelled when the contract ended. This didn't happen and debit order,levy has been going of since. I called the customer service who are extremely rude(Sindy),I requested my debit order to be cancelled as of immediately but I'm told that can only be done end of July.
Planet fitness are rogues,how can they take money when we are not utilizing their facilities? I'm definitely taking this to the media and hope this gym gets shut down. The customer service is trained so well to manipulate clients and insist on still taking money despite client not using the facility. I don't think you guys understand how Covid has financially affected people. It's rather inhumane to have debit orders go out for a gym "contract" and having no food to eat! I will never recommend anyone to join planet fitness and I hope for this gym to be closed down just like how planet fitness is insensitive and disloyal to clients

Keep getting charged late fees on my visa. I have been a member for 9 years and I always pay my bills. They have my checking and visa info and have auto pay so how can I be late. The Manager is very rude and only thing she offered was 3 months free and that will not cover false late fees. I have spoken with Rockel Vasquez at abc financial and she told me I would get reimbursed a month ago but the gym will not cooperate with me. Please help very frustrated.

BARON UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR AND ETHICS!

Utter and terrible behaviour from the sales manager baron at planet fitness mal@55. A manager is defined as a leader that cultivates professionalism in the best possible manner and avoids problems at its highest level. Unfortunately this is not what this managers character baron entails and has alot of learning to do. I am a personal trainer at planet fitness and i work seperate from every department at the club. My way of making business is by marketing myself to clients that planet fitness signs up and by offering my services to new clients at the gym. On the 01st Jine 2021 after a new member came to the club and signed up with a sales consultant i approached the client and offered personal training services if she needs me. Baron becomes furious by me marketing my business and tells me that i should only approach the new member when he allows me to and that i have no right marketing myself. How do i make business if i do not market myself to clients. He goes into a verbal abuse debate with me and threatens if i do it again he will draw conclusive and decisive action for me marketing my brand. Utter unprofessionalism and he should not be a manager yet alone should work at planet fitness if he tries to limit others from making an honest living with hard work. I dont work for him nor do i work for planet fitness so he has no right to tell me when and when not to talk to members to advertise my brand. I expect an apology from him for the verbal abuse and utter unprofessionalism showed by some1 with a managers position.

I have been denied access from planet fitness witbank for forgetting my tag, I understand the rule but there was no prior warning and I stand up at 4 to be at the gym. Werner was very aggressive and it felt like a challenge.please help your staff to be more professional I feel like not renewing my membership in August.

We have literally been trying to cancel our contract for two years and still haven't managed to do it. We asked to cancel due to bad health right in the first month and received a response saying "sorry to see you go". We thought that meant they were at least processing the cancellation but then got a call saying we owed R900. We agreed and paid it and thought all was over. Next thing we get a message saying they are handing our lack of payment over to lawyers. We explained the above to them but they say that isn't cancellation. Our invoice shows the R900 we paid but they will not accept that. There seems no way to finalise this. Months go by, we think it is over, then another demand comes and we start the process over again. Ridiculous!

Took out a contract with planet fitness told it wasn’t for 24 months and it would only cost about 250. I’ve tried to cancel it but I’m always harassed and the amount keeps going out. Will definitely contact the ombudsman if this doesn’t get sorted out.

I phoned and emailed Planet Fitness 2.11.2020 to terminate my contract and the I will not be on a month to month contract. I received numerous calls demanding a payment whereas I didn’t owe any and I did advise that I will not be taking up the month to month also. Agent that contacted me told me that I don’t have to pay any fee within the 3 months while taking the time to reconsider on taking the contract. I feel that I am not treated fairly since and to my surprise I have been handed over. And when I was called by a different agent, she also picked up on the system that Planet Fitness is owning me money and they never reimbursed me till now.

Good day,

Hope you are well-
My parents are pensioners and PLANET FITNESS GYM have been trying to fork money out of them... The contract is cancelled.
Only my dad was a member of the gym. Due to Covid-19, his age and also he not being well he can not use to Gym.

I am trying to assist as they are being harassed many times a day by various callers as well as messages.This in turn makes them anxious and is really not doing any good to the situation. It is so disapointing and upsetting.


They have tried unsuccesfully to sort this matter out which is really stressing them out so much. My dad has a heart condtion which is a concern, and my mother has had breast cancer. They have been through so much including loosing so many loved ones due to Covid.


Please let me know what more information you would like, My dad's name is ALLAN FEHLER.


Please let me know if you are able to steer me in the right direction.
It would mean so much to me if we could and find a solution. I feel as though PLANET FITNESS is holding a gun to their heads.
At this time in the midsts of another pandemic 3rd wave, we should be showing understanding, compassion and willingness to pull together. Times are really tough with enough stress around, it is sad that some companies are unable to care even after being loyal.




I would really appreciate it if you could assist more.

My local gym is still forcing people to wear masks to enter gym and to wear everywhere until on actual equipment.
Also, the manager called me "honey" several times after I requested she NOT call me honey! She refused to give me requested information on how to file a complaint with corporate and finally gave me an email address for district manager.
If I still have to wear a mask when PRESIDENT OF USA and CDC has lifted the mandate than I want a refund and to close my membership!

I enroll yesterday at the yuba city planet fitness, planet fitness has been advertising that you get your first month free. I was told I couldn’t get my first month free that my first payment would be May 17th, and my Maintenance fee would be July 1st. Why is planet fitness advertising something that thru won’t do. I feel like I was lied just to get my Business. I went to inshape I was so mad they offered me the samething that supposely planet fitness was offering they even. Beat the price 19 dollars.

My son who is unemployed and a student enquired about membership from Sam Ditu at Glenanda. He was being coerced into signing the contract apparently before a certain special would expire. However he refused and told the consultant that his mother needs to be present. I went the next day and Sam emailed me that the total fee would be R299 inclusive of the black tag. He told me to sign the on his I Pad and would adjust the amounts to R299 per month. I advised before I came to the gym that I will only take out the contract on that amount which he assured my sons and myself.
Now I am billed for R348 p.m. I contacted the head office and was told that this is the correct amount and I had signed the contract which makes me liable. I have in email the amount of R299 from the consultant. I emailed Sam Ditu and the manager of Glenanda about this and have no reply to date.
The consultant is unethical and dishonest and I demand that my contract be terminated immediately and no further deductions be made. If this is not sorted out immediately, I will go public with all the consultants devious tactics lying to get the people to sign up. There are other students that have also been forced to sign contracts.

My contract I signed was a deal for black Friday. R99 for the first 6 months and then R299. The details have since been captured incorrectly and not fixed since then after numerous complaints and efforts to sort this out. Rowen from the Brakpan branch said he would sort this out and nothing has happened since!

Service is absolutely shocking , yet my account is still deducted .

My contract could not be found for a long time and suddenly they discovered it. Still nothing has changed.

I Would like to cancel my MEMBERSHIP, on the 21/03/2021 I took up a Membership not knowing that I have to pay Full Vitality in order to get 75% off for the subscription which is R199.00
I only qualify for 30% which is R559.00 and unfortunately I wont be able to afford it, I haven’t used your services and you can keep the R125 that I paid for the Tag.
I called the call center today and they advised me that I have to Pay a Cancelation fee of R2500.00 which doesn’t make sense that’s daylight robbery I haven’t used any of your services and legally I have a right to cancel , I spoke to my lawyer and we are willing to take this matter further.

Please cancel this membership immediately, your feedback will be expected.

I have 24months contract. 08/04/2021 I wanted to cancelled my membership which was suppose to end this month (April2021) but they added 5 months because they froze our premium last year for 5month during phase1 of lock down, means I have 4months left now before my contract ends so the said I need to pay R329 for 4 months or pay R1316 once off. The policy cancellation says ''inside minimum duration i.e. MEMBER SIGNED A 24 MONTH CONTRACT WANT TO CANCEL IN MONTH 17-OPTION 1: SERVE 2MOTHS NOTICE AND HAVE ACCESS TO THE CLUB..OPTION 2:CANCEL IMEDIATELY SETTLEMENT FEE''
but I have to pay for all the moths that are left why?

On April 4,2021 I was part of an incident and accusation that led to my membership with Planet Fitness being terminated . I don't think I was treated fairly and was doomed from the minute I was accused . Me and a young lady were in the abs room and she abruptly became hostile and belligerent ,making an assumption that I took a photo of her or recorded her . As she approached me I became very uncomfortable and startled , never being in a situation like that , so I remained calm and begin to let her look into my phone . As she begin to look , she snatched my phone and took off running towards the front desk . Her choice of words throughout the incident from beginning to end and actions led me to believe she was very uncomfortable being around men or specifically black men . Not to add she had a very awkward , uneasy body language and facial expression the time I walked in the room .At the time it was no biggie ,because I was used to that , not knowing it would result in such a drastic ,life changing moment . Yes life changing for me . I was scrutinized , judged, manipulated , and treated unfairly and mislead . The managers who handled it only took her word for it when it was my word against hers. I did not aim my camera at her . Not knowingly anyways . The camera was was aiming at myself . Don't know how they concluded I was recording or taking a photo from any video from what I recall taking place . I don't think the video really mattered much anyways . I was already told to be terminated and perhaps terminated before I told my side of the story . There is absolutely no way to prove I was recording her or took a photo regardless of what they believe . I'm not saying if she felt some kinda way that she should have not had a concern because she is human , but I am also human and I felt even more uncomfortable than her giving her attitude and taking my phone and kicked out without a thought. All the staff kept telling me was that it's a zero tolerance atmosphere . Well the zero tolerance didn't pertain to me ? And last I checked , it was a judgement free zone as they advertise. And by all means , I was judged the time I walked in the room and until the ten minutes it took them to draw conclusions . All is ask is this be looked into from higher management so it won't have to be taken any further . I just want a fair opportunity and for someone to look it at from my standpoint . Thanks

Just want lay a complaint about one of the staff memberbin planet fitness in pietermaritzburg scottville. One of the staff member asked me to wear my musk while i was gyming and i tried to explain to her my condition with gyming with the musk on and she refused to give me her name. And she let other people to gym wihout they're must on, because i assume they are friends ... if this how we are gonna be treat by your stuff member, then I'm not happy about the service

I opened an account with planet fitness which was to be cancelled last year. The gym continued to debit my account until I requested a formal cancellation. Thereafter I kept receiving SMSs and calls stating my account is in arrears. After 2 months of endless calls to their call center I finally got ahold of a general manager and furnished them with proof (bank statements) showing my account is paid up - they erroneously failed to allocate the payments. Now the nightmare has started up again, I am receiving calls from their debt collectors ( hybrid) stating my account is in arrears but I have a statement from PF showing my balance to be 0. I have sent this statement in endless emails and the issue is still NOT RESOLVED. I am so sick of this gym. Their service is pathetic and they harass you non stop. The call center agents are a bunch of liars. No one gives you the right story, the go around continues for months. Miserable company to ever have any dealings with, they do not operate in good faith.
