I asked this lady if they had particular pants in the store, she gave me a shrug which I wasn't sure what it meant, I asked if it meant that she doesn't know or if they longer had the item on stock the she said they don't have it and few seconds later we found the items not so far from where we are. I went back to her and told her that we found the pants of which she told me were out of stock then she proceeded to say "well it's a good thing that I found them" I spoke to the manager whom she asked to apologize then it was a whole back and forth between she and I.. in the end she refused to apologize...I then realized that she has no respect for her job, zero people skills and absolutely no regard for her superior...this was the most appaling treatment I have been exposed to.

I felt that I was not heard in the most triviliazing way...the sad part of it all is that Tshepiso the manager does not seem to be able to control or reprimand her staff...

I went to collect my parcel on the 27 April 2021 at pep home Thaba mall P6616 and i was Assisted by a lady called Kele she has a very bad attitude she even shook my parcel harder for everyone to know what i am collecting. I was not happy at all.

It seems like a general issue with Pep staff...I had a terrible experience at one of their clothes stores at Centurion mall...has someone reached out to you yet?

I am currently working and staying in Aliwal North.I bought a pair girls boots from Aliwal North branch and send the boots at home in Tsolo where my kid stays, the boot did not fit her. I asked my sister to return these at your Tsolo branch but she was told they cannot help her as she does not have proof of purchase. I unfortunately cannot find my till slip.
The boot is still in sellable condition with a price tag on.
Please kindly assist.

I had a similar experience. Pep signet terrace lenasia has the most rude staff working there.The cashiers were discussing the situation with other customers and laughing. Apparently on the receipt it states that you cannot even exchange for a bigger size without the original receipt. Called customer service who said they can exchange with area managers approval. He was just as rude and just refused. The regional manager was polite and explained but they stuck to the decision. Will definitely not be shopping at any pep store and will encourage my friends and family not to aswell.

On the 24th of April 2021 I went Pep at Park central JHB Noord area. I wanted use Paxi services in order to send some stuff home at KZN Greytown. Firstly when entering the store I asked if the service was working and one employee said yes it was working, i decided to buy some items as well and i queued to pay for the items and also pay for the Pexi a cashier called Lerato assisted me, her attitude was bad she was extremely rude and refused to do a Paxi sell for me and said it was offline i told her the other lady said it was working then she asked me for a Store number where the items are gonna be delivered too, I said i dnt have it and ive always used Paxi services with just the address and my ID document. She got really rude and said i was wasting her time because the Paxi was gonna take more time since she was gonna search the store to be delivered too and the line was long. I told her to please do it she did proceed to do it an it was fine not offline as she said initially, i had to buy a second plastic bag as the items where alot, again she got angry en said that there is no space for the second plastic while i could see that the shelves where still available and asked to process my Paxi. She delayed me and really offered poor en rude service. I got out upset, angry and really disappointed by the service that Lerato gave me. Please take necessary steps to discipline her as her behaivor was not acceptable. I have been a loyal en supportive customer for PEP for many many years this was not acceptable.

I bought a phone to work with bolt driver app in Pep cell store in East London Buffalo complex. I downloaded the app and it gave me an error message that says "display over other apps, feature not available, this feature has been turned off because it slows down your phone" I spoke to the person who was selling me the phone and she even tried herself to fix the issues and didn't come right also and she told the manager who was at the back office and told me to wait for her. I waited for +45 minutes for the lady and i ask the cashier more than 3 times to please call the manager. When she came she told me i must take the matter up she won't assist me and she even did not take the phone and see if the app is really not working. She only ask me did i told the cashier when i buy the phone if i am going to use if for the Bolt Driver app and i ask her if when i buy the phone do i have to state a reason for me to buy the phone and she reply yes i have to. So the phone doesn't serve the purpose, and i wanted to exchange and take the other phone. All I needed was to return the phone and buy a better for in the same store. The manager doesn't have customer service at all and she approach me with bad attitude. Please help me

This seems to be a common problem at Pep stores. The managers are aggressive and unhelpful. They say that the customer is always wrong!

I went to the pepstore in Ennerdale to send my brother money as he was stranded, I had left my phone at home because my battery was low and I was relying on sending him the pin number via the public phones. When I got to the store the teller had not explained to me or asked me if the sms could be sent to my phone or not it just happened without my consent. When I tried explaining to her my matter she left me at the till and went to go get the manager. The manager came to me and did not even greet me and rudely told me that there was nothing she could do, I tried explaining my matter and even handed her my ID again and asked if she could give me my money back and she rudely said to me she will do no such, she did not even listen to what I said.I told her that if you as a manager takes your colleagues parts who are we then going to escalate matters to? I further went on to tell her that she did not even offer me an apology for the inconvenience she has cause and she lied and said that she did I told her that she was lying and she said that offered my sister an apology of which she was still lying and my sister went on and told her that according the the consumer protection act she was wrong and that she should stop lying. I then took my things and told her that I was going to escalate the matter mostly because of the rudeness they had shown me. This happened today 19th April 2021 @ Ennerdale pepstores the manager I'm mentioning is Rosina I just did not get the name of the teller or rather cashier. I went to PEP at Mphephu Plaza to change 6 items which were small sizes.All the things that i had bought initially costs 1200rand. Then i got 3 and the other 3 they were no sizes. I then asked the cashier(i have her pic and name) is it possible to change these three then i will go other pep stores to change the remaining and she said its possible. I then let her go on with the transaction. After she completed, she then told me to write my address and name at the back of the receipt and i told her isn't i need to use the receipt to other stores. And she said no its not possible. And i asked her why because i had asked her in the 1st place. She answered i didnt know you get change on the 3 items that i exchanged.she then called the supervisor /manager and the manager was so rough. She said there is nothing that we can do take those items you didnt change and make a plan somewhere and i said how with no receipt and she said you can keep them. And i told her i am changing they are small what i am supposed to do. I then asked them for a refund and she said its not possible dont waste our time take your things and go we have queue to attend to and she went her side office and closed the door. So what i am supposed to do because i am holding on things that my child can not fit. And i cant change them i dont have a receipt to change them in any store

I was at PEP Hatfield today 15h50.
Two ladies wearing PEP uniforms sitting at a desk in the store, when I asked who the manager was they said they are only visiting the store and do not know☹.
At the tills I think Deliwe said they are not going to put more staff at tills since the rest are taking stock☹
She did not call the manager who stayed in the little office- either the staff are scared or hiding her (or him)
12 people (I counted) in a queue and ONLY 2 tills open☹
I left the store because I did not have hours to spend in queues☹

I went to pep store at Sam ntuli with the trolley that had my 10months old son and 5year old daughter when i got to pep store the security lady told me that trolleys are not allowed inside the store i said to her ohk I'll just put them at the back of the door next to that Window because the is no one walking the then quickly take what they need i won't buy all the staff i wanted then as i ran to quickly take nappies she pushed my kid's outside the door i went to her took her photos told her I'm going to report her she called someone to call MAMA i don't know if that's a store manager or not that lady came to me told me that trolleys are not allowed inside the store i must take the trolley out i said am taking few staff then I'm leaving the shop is not even busy she took my kid's out side the store and waited with them them because i wasn't comfortable i had to take only 4 things I'm very disappointed and hurt by the fact that both this people who mistreated me included my kid's in all of this and that they also woman how can you put a 10months old and 5year old daughter outside the shop because of a trolley can you please explain to me if this is acceptable in your stores

For the first time today have i experienced such digusting customer service from a pep store.
I walked into the store in Rosenearth Umkomaas today to have a return done due to the product being defective.Upon entering the store i did inform a staff member about the return.
He went on to ask if i would be taking something else which in return I did convey to him that i will have a look if theres something i could take in its place.
After browsing the store and finding nothing to my liking i went through for my refund.Because i was not taking anything and the purchase was made at a different store the store manager then rudely tells me that i should take it back there,
My understanding is that all pep stores are under one umbrella.
her behaviour as management was pathetic.from her tone of voice to her expressions and lack of customer care or consideration.
To prevent her stock loss and mark down i should drive 20min.
she was content and showed no remorse as i exited that store dissatisfied.

I soon after returned demanding a contact number for a head office.which she refused.As per her they didnt have one and there after were not "allowed" to give out numbers.

when i refused to leave the store she decided with her disgretion she could return it but not give me my money due.
Let me emphasis that peps till slip states a refund can be done with a slip not that the refund can only be done in the store of purchase with a slip.

After me being persistent she rudely walked away and comes back to do a refund.
What disgusted me the worst was she goes on to tell me that in future i should check before returning a product.

If she is a store manager peps standards of employment in terms of TCF and customer care is terrible.she has never shown visibility in that store.

I want an apology for her disgusting approach and pathetic attitude and service

I have been sending parcels via Pep Paxi services at RandridgeMall since before lockdown, often encountering unpleasant attitudes from staff members, which I chose to ignore. Thinking I could overcome this by just being friendly In return. However I’ve had enough of one member named Thembeka. Please Pep do not put staff front facing at the till who appear to dislike people and are just awful to deal with. I dread going to this Pep because of this. It’s always a dreadful experience. To the point that I told the lady in question today that it was a most unpleasant experience dealing with her. I will never use this store again. Definitely moving to another group/courier.

I bought a phone at Pep cell in n Birch acres mall and was overcharged,the phone on display was R699 and was charged R1699 then went back within that 7days to logde a complain they said they cannot refund me or do exchange

I have heard and read about the terrible service at Pep in Stilfontein, and although I have had a few unhappy incidents in the past I kept on going back, but today I've seen that service to the paying public is not part of the staff's priority at this Store, if it is busy, the service is slow, if its quiet the service is slower. You can stand in the line at that cashier until the spiders make nests all over you and they will not even look at you twice, while the one custodian is clearly sitting around in the cashier area and the other clearly needs glasses as she has to bring a document about 15cm close to her eyes to try and make out, can you maybe assist your employee with that issue please? I am terribly dissapointed, will not be shopping there again.

I went to the pep in Katlehong Letsoho shopping Centre the store number is 0996. I was the to send a parcel through paxi, the cashier that was assisting me is Seya she told me to pay for the R89 for the paxi bag . Mind you as she said I must put my staff the ship didn't check only asked what I was sending I told her that I'm sending my mom's clothes to Mthatha she then sealed the plastic and told me that the a lady that's gonna come and assist me . In like 5 minutes or so another cashier came she started yelling and she was like " angeke ngiyenze mina le eseyivaliwe " she then asked whether did Seya opened and checked what's inside the plastic I told her no she didn't I waited near the teller for something like 29 minutes without any help nor communication. I went back to this lady and asked what's the way forward because I'm standing there like a fool they not saying anything to me.i told her everything that was inside the plastic including my mother's medication and that's when she lost it telling me that she won't send that paxi.Little did I know that paxi doesn't send prescribed medication and I told the lady that it's okay I can take out the meds and that's when she told me that I'll have to pay double the price. the lady said " uyabona this is your fault". That's when I took my staff and left the store . I actually don't know how paxi procedure works at pep but I strongly believe that they should first check what you are sending rather than making us pay and they asks later what's inside . I am so disappointed the service was terrible

I bought little hero with Big characters tracksuit whereby track top is R69.99 and bottom is also R69.99 but when you take both you save R20 and winter set where by the top is R44.99 and the bottom is R39.99 and take when you take both you save R15 I never got that R20 and R15 saving then when I ask the cashier she told me a story that do not make sense. May I please have the mistake being rectified thank you

Went to brookside mall. Pietermaritzburg.. pep home. A black gentle man with no name tag assisted me took a duvet cover set with cupcakes on it no price on it went to the shelve.. tells me I moved the duvet to R99.99 and says he doesn't care when I explained to him im a customer and I found it there.. UNACCEPTABLE.. when I said I will report him he laughed and said feel free ... we as customers will not be treated like that .. I want feedback and they need to be trained and with name tags . I WANT FEEDBACK WITH REGARDS TO THIS .. HE NEEDS TO KNOW ALL PURCHASES DONE AT A STORE WHICH GENERATES INCOME FOR HIM AND THE STORE .. UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR ..

On the 19 March 2021 my mother  went to Pep store Phuthaditjhaba 8081 to send a parcel using  Pexi service. She was assisted by a cashier named Vuyisiwe, my mother told her, she wants to send a parcel to Pep store in Centurion Mall she told she needs that pep store number in order to send the parcel my mother called me to let me know as we were on the call the cashier (Vuyisiwe) said "oh I found it, it's pep home" I said yes there's also pep home.

As I get the message I realized she sent to Pep store in Forest Hill I called back to let her know that I don't even know where that Pep is. She canceled the parcel and told my mother to come back when she has that number not explaining to her that up on cancelation she'll have to pay again.

After finding the number my mother went that's only when she started to explain that she has to pay again. I called to ask why she have to pay again & why she didn't explain everything she was there shouting at my mother as she hung up on me. I called back  asked to talk to the manager I spoke to Mme Sekoere who simply told me "I don't know what to say but you can call the Area Manager we'll see if he'll penalize us or not".

I called the Area Manager Mr Ezekiel I explained to him what had happened. I asked him if it was fair for my mother to pay twice for the same parcel because of the mistake that wasn't even hers in the first place? And is it professional for your store manager to answer me in the manner that she did? He said to me "I'll investigate the matter I'll get back to you",few minutes later he called and said your parcel is on the way of which I know cos my mother paid twice for it and I got the message. I told that is not the reason why I called him he told me "I'll investigate the matter and get back to you until today I'm still waiting for Mr Ezekiel to get back me. I'm truly disappointed the treatment we got from your staff more especially your management.

On the 9th of April I was at Pep at Vaal Gate. I was threatened by a guard at the door. He asked us to que outside and we did, I was number 1. As I was standing people walked in the shop then a lady behind me,she was number3 behind she approached him and asked if he was aware that while he went inside there are people who walked in. He started being aggressive to this lady saying insults to this lady. Me as a person who was in front I said to him"abuti this lady she was asking a question,she was not being disrespectful, it seems like you have a selective hearing because you are already not approchable". He responded by saying "you are educated ne" and I said"yes". He threatened to kick me, beat me up and with his finger right in my face. I went to get my husband because he said I should go and get him. I was abset and scared of this seeing that I am a woman and he is a man. He said he was rude to me because of the incident that happened a day earlier. How is that my problem? With the amount of gender violence against women and domestic violence happening in the country, its shocking that we have people who are violent against women in big retails like Pep store, who bravely said to me in front of other customers that he will beat me and kick me. I am traumatized by this and will never go to that store again.

I went to symphony walk pep in town centre Mitchell's plain to have my Laybye cancelled.I told the cashier Jolene I would like to cancel the Laybye she then anouced it in the p.a to bring the laybye.then I told her i would like to purchase a jersey she told me to stand on the other side of the till and proceeded to call the next customer I waited patiently as I thought she wants to do one sale when the Laybye came to the front.i saw she received my Laybye and then moved to her side of the till.she told me to sign at the back of the slip which I did and she told me the signatures did not match.i told her that people don't always sign the same way but she could make a copy of my ID ..she did not respond and called the acting supervisor as the manager Violet was apparently on leave (cause I requested to see the manager)the acting supervisor Rukeaya came to the till very aggetayted and asked what it was, Jolene said she should check the signatures she took the slip and did not even compare all signitures and looked at me and said sarcastically I should have a copy of my ID and did we not have this conversation before.i was shocked as I have never refunded a Laybye at this store before ,she also looked at me up and down as if she thought nothing of me.i had to walk to the
dangerous part of town centre at the back by Kentucky to make a copy of my ID then walk back to the store to get my refund.I have never received such bad service as I did in that store.i was going to take some of the items as I told the cashier Jolene but I was so upset that I left the jersey and the other items I would have taken.I also come from retail but never have I degraded a customer just because she wants a refund.i would definitely not purchase at that store again, I wonder how they choose supervisors ..you should have passion for your job ,respect customers no matter who they are and have a frendly attitude.Make their day when they enter your store.
